Just a piece of Al square tube and Zn bolt anchors being burned in a highly oxidizing oxy-acetylene flame. Made for a nice light show, and although I wasn’t wearing gloves, I did have a respirator on, and I suffered no harmful effects of the massive amounts of zinc oxide released. I also made a nice chunk of zinc-aluminum alloy too, nothing special, but interesting I guess.
In this video, I get ready for my 4 piston BBK install. I picked up these brake callipers used which is why this is going to be a very affordable build. The calipers I was able to pick up for 200 dollars (including pads). FastBrakes(dot)com was nice enough to send me some of their brackets (retail is 155), and I picked up the front rotors for 120 (on sale) for the set. The stainless steel lines were 60 dollars per axle, and the pads ran me 44 dollars.

The brackets that were sent to me came with 4 zinc coated calipers bolts, 2 black anodized brackets, 4 additional zinc coated bolts for the spindle, and 2 hub centric rings for the rotors.
The for my Accord, any 4 piston callipers will work from 2005-2012 Acura RL. As for the brake rotors, you can’t use a set of RL’s as the bolt pattern for them is 5×120, where the accord’s is 5×114.3. The rotors are outsourced from a 2006 Nissan Maxima where they are 12.6” in diameter and are 28mm’s thick. Some people have gone with the 2006+ 350Z base model rotors (12.8”) however the rotor is 2mm’s wider and would need some shaving of the caliper to make them work (which I didn’t want to do). The pads are from an Acura RL to make sure they wouldn’t have any compatibility issues, and finally, the brake line from the Accord, will work with the RL’s caliper, however you will need an additional copper washer.
If you have any questions regarding the video, you know where to throw them!! Thanks for watching
